      The Dream Capture Foundation was founded at the end of 2008 by Peter and Nicole Taaffe of Dream Capture Photography.  After many years of supporting all kinds of charities and causes Peter and Nicole decided it was time to give something back directly to our local community.

 

      Dream Capture Foundation’s goal is to raise enough money through fundraising efforts to be able to purchase a humidicrib for the Special Care Nursery at the Mackay Base Hospital.  With so many babies being born in Mackay, it is vital for the premmie and special needs babies have more equipment in the Special Care Nursery.  Many of Mackay’s babies are transported by the CQ Rescue Helicopter to Townsville because there is just not enough humidicribs available locally.  Being such a long way from home
can cause strain on families, relationships and even finances, not to mention extra financial strain on the CQ Rescue Helicopter service.

 

      We are relying on generous donations from the public and businesses in order to raise the estimated $25,000 for the humidicrib.  We will be fundraising throughout the year at various events, and will be making a 2011 calendar of Mackay babies and children; with the proceeds of the sale of the calendar to go to the charity.  If you would like your kids to be part of our calendar please call us, we are shooting the calendar NOW.

 

      Even if we can make the difference to a small number of local families this year, just imagine what we can do next year.
